Prepare for the upcoming storm by taking necessary precautions. Utilizing sandbags is a straightforward yet efficient method to mitigate flood water damage and erosion. When properly filled and positioned, sandbags serve as a barrier to redirect flowing water.

City sponsored sandbag locations

Healdsburg

  • Healdsburg Community Center, 1557 Healdsburg Ave., Healdsburg. The sandbag filling station is self-serve. Sand and empty bags will be provided, however it is recommended that you bring a shovel to fill bags, gloves to protect your hands and a helper to assist in filling. Occidental

  • Occidental Fire Department, 3800 Bohemian Hwy, Occidental. Sand will be located in the parking lot between the fire station and tennis courts.

Petaluma

The following sandbag filling stations are self-serve. Sand, sandbags and shovels are provided. For more information, visit City of Petaluma’s webpage.
  • City Corp Yard, 840 Hopper St., Petaluma.
  • Prince Park, 2301 East Washington Ave., Petaluma. Sandbag materials will be located at the park entrance to the right in the empty parking lot.
  • Leghorn Park, 690 Sonoma Mountain Parkway, Petaluma.

Rohnert Park

  • Callinan Sports and Fitness Center, 5405 Snyder Lane, Rohnert Park. Free sand and empty sandbags are available to Rohnert Park residents. It is recommended that you bring a shovel to fill bags, gloves to protect your hands and a helper to assist in filling.

Santa Rosa

  • City Municipal Services Center North, 55 Stony Point Road, Santa Rosa. Free sand and empty sandbags are available to Santa Rosa residents (ID required). The yard is open 24/7 throughout the rainy season. For more information, visit srcity.org/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=2396 to learn more.

Sebastopol

  • 425 Morris St., Sebastopol. The sandbag filling station is self-serve. Location is at the city parking area to the rear of the Sebastopol Youth Annex. Free sand and empty sandbags are available to Sebastopol residents available from sunrise to sunset. Shovels available, 25 bags maximum.

Sonoma

  • Depot Park, 270 1st St. W., Sonoma. The sandbag filling station is self-serve (limit 10 per resident). Sand is available at Depot Park, and free sandbags are available to Sonoma residents at City Hall during normal business hours, limit of 10 bags per resident, while supplies last. Windsor

  • Public Works Corporation Yard, 8400 Windsor Rd., Windsor. The sandbag filling station is self-serve. Free sand and empty sandbags are available to Windsor residents while supplies last. It is recommended that you bring a shovel to fill bags, gloves to protect your hands and a helper to assist in filling. For more information, visit the Town of Windsor page.

County sponsored sandbag locations

The following sandbag filling stations are self-serve. Free sand and empty sandbags are available. Please bring your own shovel.

  • Monte Rio Fire Station, 9870 Main Street, Monte Rio. Sandbag materials will be located across the street from the main firehouse behind the smaller building where they store some equipment.
  • Sonoma County Fire District #7 – Forestville Fire Station, 6554 Mirabel Road, Forestville. 
  • Sonoma Landworks, 15950 River Road, Guerneville.
